Alderney Tapestry comes to Battle

Alderney Tapestry comes to Battle : Battle Museum of Local History from 01/10/2016 to 29/10/2016 times - 16.30

The Bayeux Tapestry is long thought to be incomplete and so, in 2012-2013, the
islanders from Alderney, off the French coast, embroidered their own three metre long finish to the Bayeux Tapestry.

Kate Russell, Pauline Black and others living in Alderney decided to recreate the missing
scenes, depicting, in Bayeux style, the Norman feast after the battle and William’s coronation. They were assisted in 2012 by HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on a visit to the Island.
