As part of the focus on traditional crafts for this 950 th Anniversary edition, the PURE Autumn Art
Fair are delighted to host the Scrumblers! This event will be managed and operated by Julia Desch
of Woolcraft with Wensleydale and all questions should be directed to her.
The name ‘scrumble’ describes a seemingly random combination of crochet, knitting and possibly
other fibre arts, to make a piece that is not constrained by patterns, colours, stitches or other
limitations. One feature of this freeform art is that people of varying expertise and experience can
come together to make group pieces
Julia will host two open sessions;
Tuesday 25 th
Thursday 27 th October
11am and 4pm.
Once registered, scrumblers can come and go freely as they please. Indoor and outdoor
seating areas are available and all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in.
The intention is that by the end of day two, a group piece will have been created.
